Last fall I went to the Observatory to view the Harvest Moon. Just as lovely was an older couple I observed. They inspired me to write this poem.
Autumnal Equinox
In line to view the Harvest Moon
Young and old alike
A woman appears slowly, with a cane
The moon pulls us all
She navigates the steps
To the ancient instrument
She climbs them twice
And twice descends
To where her husband waits
He doesn’t look at the moon
He harvests it in her
Carrie - Love the Observatory, love your poem....harvest, fall, total flavor of the setting....love it!
